Standstill - Pi - 07 (Fu Xi) / 12 (King Wen)

When looking at this hexagram it seems everything is in its place. The earth is below and the sky is above. Then why such an unpleasant name?

If the sky is in its place above and earth in its place below, there is no flow. Like two stubborn people in their comfort zone there is no dialogue - one does not need the other. Those at the center suffer and need the energy of these forces. Without this energy, they have no reason to leave their place and so continue to focus on their personal interests.

Pi also represents the beginning of autumn, when energy is running down, becoming paralyzed. There is no more growth; the energy has stagnated.
